  3. Both character sketches and monologues show characteristics of a character or person in a piece of writing. Character sketches focus more on the physical aspects of a characters and description of a character's personality. A monologue reveals characteristics and traits through dialogue and actions that the character takes.

  5. The biggest difference between a character sketch and a monologue is that a monologue is set up closely to look like a speech whereas a character sketch is describing and using what you know about an individual to describe them to others. A character sketch and monologue both get very deep and oftentimes are used to describe an event that has great meaning. Monologues create more of a raw and spiritual piece. Character sketches use literal information of what you know about a person to create a piece that represents who they are. Both do focus on characters just in different ways.

  6. I think these are different because a monologue is not developing something unlike how character sketch is more based on who the character actually is. A monologue tells the story as a genre, using emotions and dialogue.

  7. A monologue is a long speech about what’s going on or something that they’re thinking about. Could be about themselves, could be about something completely different. A monologue is more emotional. A character sketch is a speech basically describing a certain character. Could be a speech or a certain story about that character. It’s more descriptive than a monologue.

It is written in first person and reveals to the audience their personality and other character attributes through the words that they have spoken. a character sketch is a description of a character by someone else. It is written in third person and allows the reader to interpret the characters attributes from an outsiders perspective.
