  1. Except i didn’t want to not ask that question, when i asked it I didn’t think it was going to go the way that i did. Therefore I’m glad i got the clarity on the matter.

  2. Therefore, it is important to understand who your true friends are. If I hadn’t gone through this rough time with her, then I never would have been as introspective about the relationships I form and how they affect my life. I learned what I truly look for in friends. I learned that I am easily swept away by seemingly nice gestures at the cost of my morals. I have worked on that. I know what I want in friendships now, and it is okay if I’m picky.

    1. I think the what if really helped me, but the therefore did not help as much.

  3. Noora had experienced that gut wrenching, heartbreaking moment when her parents called it quits. Oliver had been there for her and her mom for everything. Therefore she knew what Oliver was going through except they were no longer friends. She didn’t know how to help him like he helped her.

    1. I preferred the 5 different “what if” scenarios because it gave clarity and brevity over my story while the therefore and except can be explained with my story while the “what ifs” can help expand my story.

  4. Charlie’s father left her something when he died, therefore he had to tell her that he was grieving.
Charlie was grieving and could not get out of bed, except he was so excited to see her. He couldn’t wait another year.

  5. The what ifs worked best for me because it created a whole story for me, I feel like was hard for me to do a therefore because I'm not learning a lesson I am telling a story

  6. What If the best revision method given how much it allows for you to insert and grow from. Except doesn't really work since what is left out is left out intentionally to add to the story, and it leaves the story no room to grow

  7. Therefore it is a good thing to listen to your parents and don't disobey them. If I had just listened to my parents telling me to get off the wall, I would never have gotten a concussion. The therefore revision worked best for me and I didn't really like the except one.

  8. Except for her lost faith in humanity, it was looking like an alright day.

  9. I liked the suppose/what if because it opened my mind up more in order to create a more fictional story. the except/therefore caused me to relate back the the non-fiction topic that I wrote about in the beginning which caused a internal dilemma for me and my writing.

  10. There once was a little girl named Jane who grew up with a lot of uncertainty in her life. She always felt like an outcast at school. Her friends all wanted to become nurses, doctors, and lawyers when they grew up. Jane knew that she wasn't like the rest of her friends therefore, she wanted to grow up to be an artist. She always loved the idea of painting, drawing, and sketching for her career except she didn't love the fact that her friends looked at her differently when she talked about her future goals. "An artist?!?" "Is that even a job?!" Jane felt belittled and extremely outcasted by her friends therefore, she often thought about shutting down her dreams of wanting to be an artist.

  11. The revision method that worked best for me was the "what if" scenarios. The "therefore/except" method didn't help me get my paper where I want it to be.

  12. I think that the What If method is more applicable to fiction stories. Whereas the Therefore/Except method didn't really fit the fictional structure for me. I felt that you should originate your story around the therefore/except and expand it with the what if tool.

  13. I wanted to be rid of him, except we were stuck in the same social circles.
After what he did to my friends, I wanted to never see his face again, except he kept showing up to all of our places.
I wanted to hate his guts and doom him to terrible things, except him leaving gave me the best friend group I’ve ever had.
I wanted to let go of his grip on my life, therefore I cut off all personal attachment. We were no longer friends, not even acquaintances. We were peers. That’s it.

The therefore/except process worked better for me because it allowed me to expand on individual points of my narrative. The What If process was a bit harder because it started to turn my nonfiction into fiction. It was interesting to think about, but for my purposes, I think the except/therefore method is more helpful.

  14. Both the suppose/what if and therefore/except worked for me. I was able to use an idea from suppose/what if and merge it into an idea from therefore/except. I chose "what if the power went out all across the city?" and then I combined it with "therefore" and then listed out different examples. Almost like a cause and effect situation.

  15. Since I had seen the transformation of my dog I therefore had to come to terms that she was no longer Mazy, but a creature except I couldn’t come to terms with that, I felt as if something had taken my dog away instead of it being her.
I believe expanding upon this part of my story would add some more conflict physically but also mentally for the protagonist of the story
Any of them that would not expand upon the wear-wold aspect or add more conflict/fear I do not think would assist the story

    1. I like the what if because of how many different directions my story could go, I do not like the therefore because it makes me come up with a reasoning when i would rather have sorted chaos

  16. except was an interesting one for me to do. The one work completely altered the stories direction which was cool.

    1. I think for my story the what if made the most sense just because of the way it continues with the story

  17. I have a natural talent of showcasing my presence and athleticism runs through my veins. My father was an athlete his entire life, which ultimately guided him into the realm of professional football. Athleticism has been a value of my home. It was also something that my siblings and I strived to improve upon. Although I have been blessed with these gifts, I have always remained humble. She was insecure with herself and her own abilities therefore she embodied envy. I believed that deep down she was proud of me, except her ego and yearning for success wouldn’t allow her to exemplify a courteous attitude.

    ReplyDelete
  18. What ifs were better for me since I can actually tell a story and it feels more natural

    ReplyDelete
  19. The suppose/what if method worked very well with my fiction, however the therefore/except method did not work well at all. The what if method created more creative ideas for me and more fun, while the therefore method was more difficult and less creative for me.

  20. except the things in life i want to do require me to have no fear i need to leave it all behind.

    ReplyDelete
  21. The what if revision method worked well for me compared to the therefore/except method because I was able to come up with a lot more idea that would go good with my story.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The what if statements were easier to come up with, but once I found a topic I enjoy writing about it was easy to come up with a therefore/except method as well. I believe the suppose/what if statement was a better method to go off of to be able to write more about.

  23. Therefore, my parents finally understood why mental health matters because it could affect anyone including family. They finally realized that they need to mature and understand that it’s okay to be vulnerable and talk about feelings. Except, the attempt could have been avoided if they knew this a lot sooner. I feel like the therefore method worked a lot better for my story and it was easier to think of examples.

    ReplyDelete
  24. The what if method worked better for my fiction writing because therefore/except made me feel like I was writing in nonfiction. I was really struggling to come up with a therefore/except statement.

  25. Therefore, if we never got together, I would be the same person I used to be. I wouldn't be girl who wanted to be liked by everyone. The girl who would have done anything to make someone else happy at the sacrifice of herself. Except, you taught me that I deserve better. I know who I am now.

  26. I grew to like hanging out there and I would've today too, except I don't have her here to share these moments.

  27. I would constantly be woken up in the middle of the night by my dads loud coughing. I couldn't be mad because I was the reason why he was sick. He was coughing so frequently therefore he had to go to the hospital except there wasn't a 100% chance that he would be coming home from that hospital visit.

The what if/suppose method worked better for me because I was able to come up with more scenarios, the therefore/except method was confusing and I wasn't able to come up with as many ideas.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Except I did not think he was going to ask me that question. Therefore my response was a complete shock to not only him, but to myself as well.

  29. The what if scenarios worked the best for revision for me. It allowed me to expand my story in different ways and also added more of a dramatic effect. The therefore method also worked because in a way I learned something from this experience, whereas I couldn't really use the except method.

  30. The suppose method works better for me because I actually know what the suppose method is. I have no idea what the therefore/except method means. I tried to look up the method but didn’t find anything

  31. Favorite scenario
    3. What if I am just overthinking the whole situation? Then maybe I am just assuming the worst about what I am capable of doing. If I am able to do this then I can learn to possibly control my anxiousness feeling and then let my mind be stronger.

    Therefore/except method
Therefore if I am able to block the negative thoughts coming into my head when I am under pressure then I am able to be successful
Therefore I am able to allow myself to grow and control this awful feeling
Therefore the anxiousness will slowly dwindle down not just in this situation but in other high pressure situations
Except the fact that sometimes I can’t control it
Except that I put a lot of pressure and expectations on myself ‘

The better method that worked for me is the favorite scenario because I can go more in detail in a positive way and possibly build up onto what I hope to succeed.

  32. I accept the way that it turned out. Not really a healthy life that I’m living. However it is definitely better than the one that I was living in previously. I’m not saying that adult life, paying bills, working all the time, being stressed about college is a great thing, but I value my independence.

  33. Writing out the plot points and picking one to start at, and then telling our story backwards was my favorite method. I love reading books that start at the end and gives clues to the begging of the story, and what happened. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, and really helped me expand my story more. I didn't really like the therefore/except method it didn't really flow for me, was kind of confusing.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I personally like the what if and the therefore/except method because they both provide the ability to add more depth to my writing. If I had to choose, the what if method would have to be my favorite. I love counteracting within my writing because it gives me the opportunity to give the readers two sides of the situation both coming from my point of view.

  35. Someone needed to call the police, but no one would. Therefore, I took it into my own hands. I walked away from the house towards my car, except when I turned the corner, I was blocked in. There was no way for me to get out of here, so I guess I would have to walk.

  36. The what if's worked best for me. I think it helped me phrase things better, and I thought more deeply about how the situation could have been different and had a different outcome. I disliked the therefore and expect method only because It was hard for me to come up with something for it.

  37. Since we sat next to each other, we naturally started talking to each other more while working together on assignments. Therefore, while we were talking we mentioned hanging out. Right after we were talking about hanging out, we went into lockdown for Covid. During Covid we became in each other’s “bubble” and did everything together.

Therefore this led to a 2 year long sage just to end in getting cheated on then harassed by the girl he cheated on me with. I like the what if exercise because it made me think more.

  40. Therefore/except I think is more helpful with non-fiction because therefore is reality and how you’re going to react to it and I believe that’s pretty important. Would if definitely works better with fictional stories because would ifs can go so many different ways that didn’t happen.

  41. What if method worked for me to expand on my original idea and helped me to create new ones. The therefore/except method just made it felt like I was reiterating what I had already written down.

  42. I think the what if method worked better for me because it made me think about different ways I could go with my story and how I could take a different direction with it to make it a better story overall.

  43. The what if method is definitely my preferred method when writing fiction. It allows for more creative thoughts and makes writing fiction so much easier. The therefore and except method on the other hand is useful, but requires more thought which is why it is not my preferred method when writing.

  44. Because Beryl is infatuated with Zadie but never outwardly expressed it, everyone thought it was just another instance of Beryl being cruel towards Zadie given their history.
Therefore, no one batted an eye when Beryl would grab Zadie by the arm and force her to sit down besides her, interrupting Zadie whenever a question was directed towards the girl to answer it, or when Zadie would be forced to sing with Beryl and no one else.
Except, everyone’s head would turn when one of the drunken coworkers let out an ear piercing scream, just to see Beryl’s blue bunny-patterned umbrella Berylodged into his hand.

  45. the what if scenarios worked better for me because of the main fact it opened up more of a visual for me and more for me to think about when writing about that certain topic

  46. He was the first person to look at me the way that you see in the movies. It was like when the light is only on you in a room full of people. Therefore, It only felt natural to see where things led with him. Everything was going perfect, this first time I had truly felt like myself in a long time. Except, I always worry that if he makes me feel like myself...who will I be without him.

  47. My friend and I were heading to my parents cabin for the weekend. We invited a group and just relaxed a little before the start of senior year. It was very dark and rainy while we were heading to the cabin. We are just blasting music and having a good time when a deer runs out in front of us. My friend is driving and he swerves to avoid hitting the deer. We then spin and drive off the bridge we were on into the river. We panic because we both do not know how to swim. Mysteriously, a creature is swimming upon us. We panic more but the slimy, green, that looks like an alligator comes to save us. The mysterious creature drags us ashore and then whips really quick around and we can see a spiked green tail and webbed feet.
